A peer support group for helpers, caregivers, and space holders to foster connection, create space for decompression, and to cultivate a web of care so that you may feel held and able to focus on your own needs while supporting others to do the same. Hosted by Karisa Quick of That Gay Therapist and Michelle Castor of Agua y Sangre Healing. Anyone who embodies a healing type role, whether professional or not, is welcome to come.
We understand the experience of holding space for others while we also hold space for ourselves. We deserve a place to put some of what we’re carrying down. And we wanted to offer a non-judgemental space with and by others who understand the labor of acting in a healing or caregiving role.
This group aims to offer support around:
The realities of holding space for others & that we can’t carry these burdens alone,
The importance of sustainability & preventing burnout,
The need for decompression time & self care,
The importance of countering isolation
Collective Agreements: in showing up to this space, you're agreeing to uphold anti-oppressive values and these agreements so as to foster a braver space together. This space is pro-LGBTQ+, neurodivergent affirming, and anti-racist.
