The postpartum period following the birth is characterized by openness, both emotionally and physically. The purpose of the cuarentena is to warm, reconstruct and bring back together the body and the mind in order to heal and establish the woman/person in her new role as a mother/parent. The cuarentena incorporates traditional elements to not only support the healing and integration of the individual’s new role as a parent, but also to help fortify their connection with their new baby, and foster and emphasize the role of their loved ones plus the community in their care. Whether you are expecting a new baby, want to know how to better support your loved ones, or are wanting to deepen your skills as a health professional, join us for an afternoon of tradition + abuela medicine
